Kelso High Campus of Denison College of Secondary Education offers a broad and varied curriculum catering for the interests and abilities of all students.
Students in Year 7 and 8 study a set curriculum including English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography, Personal Development Health and Physical Education, Art and Music. In Technology students rotate through six contexts over the two years. These contexts include Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Wood and Metal Technology as well as Information Software (computing). In Year 8 students choose either German or Japanese as a language study.
Students in Year 9 and 10 study the core of English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography and Personal Development Health and Physical Education. As well, students choose three electives from a choice of over twenty electives for study over the two years.
Students in Years 11 and 12 choose their courses from a wide and varied curriculum choice. As part of Denison College of Secondary Education students are able to choose courses at either campus (Kelso High or Bathurst High) which increases the curriculum breadth offered to students. Courses are offered at all levels in Mathematics and English and students are able to choose from over seventy courses including academic and vocationally based courses.
Throughout the school classes are streamed and a Talented and Gifted program provides enrichment and extension for those able students. Students with special needs are supported both in stand-alone and integrated classes.
