What will I be doing in this course?

This subject consists of practical project work and industry study that develop a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the multimedia industry, together with an introduction to industry processes and practices.

The content of the course will be covered through industry visits, practical projects, developed computer skills, and associated theory.

Students will also learn to develop a management folio along with an understanding of current WH&S principles.

Multimedia students will be able to undertake projects involving:

  • Graphics
  • Animation/Flash
  • Digital video
  • Digital audio
  • Webpage design and presentation
  • Graphical enhancement
  • Multimedia authoring

Students will develop skills in the use of specialist software and equipment.

For the HSC students will be required to design, develop, construct and present a major project with a management folio.  These will contribute 60% of the students HSC mark.

A major emphasis of this course is an understanding of, and use of technology associated with the multimedia industry together with project management.

Students with an interest in pursuing a career in the media industries such as advertising, internet and webpage construction, graphic arts, communications, video media, and animation are strongly encouraged to consider this course.
