Society and Culture

The aim of Society and Culture is to develop a student’s knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes essential to achieving social and cultural literacy. The students will examine the interactions between persons, societies, cultures and environments across time.  Society and Culture is cross-disciplinary including anthropology, philosophy, media studies and sociology. Student will learn about and use social research methodologies.

The skills they learn in this course will enable them to better understand the world they live in, solve problems and engage in society.

Students completing the course will have the opportunity to undertake their own independent research and present a Personal Interest Project which will contribute to their HSC mark .
