Stage 4 and 5 Geography (Years 7 – 10)

In Years 7-10 all students will study both History and Geography. They will do one semester of each subject every year.

Geography provides students with vital information about the world they live in. It is the study of places – their environments, populations, economies and communities – and how and why these places are changing.

It gives students a holistic view of the world. Students gain understanding, knowledge and skills to make sense of issues such as climatic change, resource depletion, urban growth, population pressures, globalisation, natural disasters and environmental challenges.

Stage 6 Geography (Years 11 -12)

Senior Geography investigates the opportunities for human activities, the constraints placed upon them and the impacts of these activities. The study of Geography allows students to perceive the world in a variety of ways and helps them make sense of a complex and changing world. Students carry out an investigation into a geographical issue through the Senior Geography Project (SGP).
